I hit the tumblr lottery, I think o_O.
I was scraping tumblrs and I found this amazing tumblr.

    Specs
    -----------------
    PR: 6
    PA: 64
    DA:98
    TF:25
    CF:39

Surprisingly enough I was able to register this tumblr and add it to my web 2.0 collection. The problem is that I was looking at the previous owners of the blog, and what the tumblr was before it got expired. And it was home to a huge brand who marketed note themes. I looked and they still have there official website up and running. I don't now how they must feel know that I have their tumblr . Anyway the niche that I'm targeting has nothing to do with note themes. And it would look odd if I start displaying something different.

So should I just set and leave the tumblr with my link(which is what I do for most of my tumblrs). Or should I try replicate it back to what It was before so I don't raise suspension and slowly build my links while making the tumblr look authentic and real.

Makes it all worth is doesn't it ;) Can I use this in my next blog post about tumblers? I'm writing it now.

Since it's a high caliber tumblr might be a good idea to try and build it out with a nice theme in case they try get it back.

That tumblr should boost you big time, I recall correctly Hatred found a similar one once and it gave him a real decent boost.

@Bottle Rockets of course you can. You don't even need to ask. I Think that's a brilliant idea and that was also my initial thought. You know what the crazy thing is. I didn't even use scrapebox or buy proxies. I found it completely manually using a method I created, it takes much longer to find tumblrs but it's free. And you have the possibility to find tumblrs like this one. If you want I can share with you my method and you can put it on your blog. If you want.

Sure if you like. Keep in mind I'm doing a guest post about this on Matthew woodwards blog this week so it might blow up even more and you might not want ya methods exposed to much ;)

Can this method be automated? I'm a software developer, I would be willing to write a tool for free if you're interested.

I'm not sure if it can be automated. You can tell me. Basically I use google and I search for tumblrs related to my niche for example in Google I would type site:.tumblr + "tennis" this will bring up all the tumblrs related to tennis. I then use a web plugin to extract as many URLs per page. Once I have a list of tumblr links I run it through a software called Xenu. Which will check all out bound and inbound links to a depth of 30 per link, which will provide you with extra tumblrs that are linked within each other. The software will tell you if the URL is not found, and you only take the urls which are not found meaning that it doesn't exist. Once you have them I use an online tool to trim the urls to root. Then I use an online 404 checker. Because I have noticed that even if a tumblr shows as not found and you try to register it, it says that it's already taken. This is because it is not a 404 and is maybe a 403 or a 200. Meaning that they still do exist. 404 means it is nowhere to be found on the server so you can immediately register it, I use a 404 checker to water down the available tumblrs that I can register. Then I use a online PR checker to see which one has the highest PR, then of course I would check the PA, TF,CF. and if it all fits I will register it.

I think that's the best. I'll just share it with the forum.

Awesome method. What is the web plugin that you use to extract the URL and online 404 checker that you use?

    thanks man
I'm wondering if there might be some search footprints we can use to find expired Tumblr blogs too. something like site:tumblr.com "keyword" + "Not found."
must be something like that we can use, just can't figure it out.

I know I was thinking the same thing. But Google wouldn't index a site that has a 404 error. Like you said, I think we just have to experiment and find what works.

Just like i have always done when finding good urls like this -> WayBackMachine -> Httrack download the website and keep the urls so it doesn't effect anything.
i would say keep it and just start adding some stuff to it. Great find though! now i am super curious about make a bot that crawls tumblrs that expire and checking the DA / PA
    very cool...
